It’s the Bridal Countdown for Emily and Brian!  They are getting married in September and every month, we’ll check in with Emily about a different topic as we count down to her wedding!  Emily and two others of her choice will have a chance to meet at Nestico’s on route 11 in North Syracuse every month to talk over the wedding AND what topic she’ll be discussing.

Here’s a little bit about Emily and Brian!

Emily and Brian grew up in the Cicero/Clay area and still live there.

They are both 31  

How long have you been dating?
Since the dawn of time, lol. Just kidding! We've been dating since November 2005. 

Where did you meet? 
We knew each other a little bit throughout school (we were the same year) but didn't hang with the same circles. I remember thinking he was smart and had a really nice smile and he remembers thinking I was pretty but we didn't actually get to know each other until we started working together at the Bank of New York in 2005. I started working late to subtly spend more time with him and he used to send pretend faxes to have an excuse to talk to me. He casually invited me to Burger King to grab dinner after work one night and 3 hours later it was clear that there was definitely something there. 

When did you get engaged? How did he do it? 
September 22, 2012 at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World after the Wishes Fireworks display! Brian was stressed out since he had to keep the ring on him all day while we went on rides and he also had to make sure I didn't know it was in his pocket. He got down on one knee and proposed near the rose gardens in front of the castle. His proposal was everything I could have imagined and the perfect ending to a truly magical day! 

When is your wedding?
September 14, 2013 

How many bridesmaids/ ushers in the wedding party?
2 bridesmaids, 2 groomsmen. (Keeping it simple and hopefully drama free!) 

Give us a quick description of how you would describe yourselves:
We're both truthful, clever and always try to consider others in our everyday lives. We're movie fanatics, concert goers, and animal lovers. We definitely can't wait to spend our special day with all of our family and friends!! :)
